Hey all,
New bait poem is up. Just thought I'd let you all know...

I figured a sonnet would be appropriate for Valentine's Day. : )

The new issue is not long in coming. Any new submission will be considered, so please, feel free to post or e-mail me. Thanks!

A public service announcement (guitars not included) [08 Jan 2004|08:08pm]

So, this one time, Maggie had a really great idea for a Nightmare Before Christmas layout. And it was almost done. But then Christmas came around, and it still wasn't up. And then Diane was out of ideas.

Yes, I just referred to myself in the third person. I'm extensively, absolutely, and infinitely sorry for the wait. Here's what I'm going to do: this weekend, I am going to put together a layout on my own, and I swear to you, the next issue will be up by Monday, January 12th, 2004, or you can come to my house and cane me. All the writing is picked out (and might I add, it's delicious), but the website stuff just keeps on not happening. The issue after this one will still be out in March, just to maintain some semblance of regularity, but that's a long ways off. Once again, if you'd like to design the March issue, by all means please let me know.

Thank you again to the lovely and talented Jeremy for hosting us.

Thanks for your patience.

xoxo
Maggie.

Holy crap. I'm really sorry the new issue is taking so long. Almost everything is completed, but things just keep happening to keep it from getting...done. Among them are:

- An English paper
- Me getting a job (though, I may have gotten fired, but that's a whole other steaming dog turd for another day)
- Our lovely and talented web designer NOT chickening out, but instead coming down with some nebulous, rather serious sinus-y affliction which inhibits her from being in her right mind for basic motor functions, much rather putting together the components of the magazine... : (

I appreciate the patience and the understanding... hang in a bit longer. It should be ready soon and I will whore post accordingly : )

Love,
Maggie

Here is one of the first things I ever had published. It's actually a sequel but they didn't like the first installment. I might write a third one using this character but I think this piece ends well.

Hi My name is John Willanski and I'm for Adelaide, Australia. I do a lot of writing and I want to get more of it out there. I saw this community advertised in the _imagine_ community.
Here are the first two posts in my "lost" series. I have done lots more and they can be read o the woke community.

Hey all,

So, it seems that as soon as the first mag was published, submissions completely dropped off. Quelle dommage. Good thing I made sure to get three months' worth of stuff before I stopped pestering you all ;D

Anyway, the December issue is quickly approaching. Yes, I know I was supposed to put up something for you to read in the meanwhile. Yes, I know that I neglected to do so. Sorry about that, but I promise to be better this time around. Do any of you have suggestions for good poets I can use?

In the meanwhile, please start submitting again! I'm gonna go advertise in some communities now, so hopefully we'll get more stuff, but that doesn't get you off the hook. :P

Once again, the address is www.dorianonline.tk, and the new issue should be out December 1st (punctual! How 'bout that!), designed by the lovely and talented Diane. I'm taking offers to design the February issue. If you're interested, please let me know sometime soon either by e-mail or in a comment. Any and all help would be much appreciated.

Thank you all for your help up to this point!

xoxo,
Maggie

So, I hope everyone knows by now that the magazine will be quarterly. I haven't had much time to breathe lately, much less get a bait poem up for October. If you have any suggestions as to whose poems I should post, let me know!

I'm also taking all submissions, as well as possible site designers. I think I have one for December already, but if you're interested, please, by all means, let me know. I'll get back to you about it ASAP. You can't have too many web designers lined up, can ya? Hehehe...

Since the next issue isn't until December, holiday-related pieces are cool (they don't have to be happy holiday memories, either), but as always I'm pretty much taking everything.

xoxo,
Maggie J.

You can either link them to the ad-free http://dorian.dreamthrum.com or you can link them to http://www.dorianonline.tk, which has one ad, but I plan on fixing that.

Post all over the place ^^ Thanks a lot!

People in the Deadjournal community are posting like crazy because I advertised in roughly 6 new communities there. However, I noticed that this site no longer has the feature that when you search for an interest, the communities will come up, too. So, here's a question to the board:

Where can I advertise this community other than in community_promo?

Thanks a lot!

I saw you were in need of more stories, so I have a very short one I want to give you. It's only three paragraphs long. Heh. It's a little girl's thoughts about the British when they come over with Colombus.

Also, I have it posted at www.fictionpress.org, I don't know if you want to use it since it's already posted somewhere.

Statistics [31 Jul 2003|10:56am]

maggie_with_a_q
As of right now. This is also not an exact thing, seeing as my friend sent me a file of a bunch of her writing, but I haven't extracted it and looked at it yet. But anyway...

Total Submissions: 46
Serials: 2, with 2 installments each.
Stories: 4
Poems: 39.

Someone on Deadjournal suggested 10 pieces per edition, that way it's not too cluttered. It seemed kind of sparing to me. Perhaps we could do 15 each? That way, 46 submissions would be sufficient for 3 issues. What do you think?

Anyway, as you can see, we direly need stories and serials. I'm sending an email to my friends today. Please get the word out about this, to all your fellow writers. We need all the help we can get!

Thanks a lot for submitting.

xoxo,
Maggie J.

I joined a while ago and all I've posted so far are questions. I thought I'd change that. I don't have any story writings to post at the moment as they are all HORRIBLLY unedited but I do have some poems. They aren't the best but they might work on some strange level. Hope you enjoy, and help/criticism/thoughts are greatly welcomed.

poemsCollapse )

All 3 poems can stand on their own, but they also work as part of my stories. Hope you enjoyed. :D
